Great story & I love all the details! I've been doing scent work (for enrichment) with my dogs & just started tracking work this summer - they love it! Even if we never 'find' anyone or anything, the joy my dogs get out of it is worth all of the work. It has strengthened our bond together, so I can truly appreciate the connection you have with your dogs while doing the work you do. Please keep sharing your stories!
What an amazing rescue and beautifully written story! I can't imagine the added stress Pogo had with that cone on for all those days, then trying to navigate thick brush. It breaks my heart. But then you came along! You and Kelsey are angels... you on earth and she in your heart and all around you. I have learned SO much from you and share your wisdom and "rules" for rescue often. This one will definitely be shared.
If only those folks at the quarry had gotten your message and waited for you, Pogo would have been home and comfortable much sooner, but somehow it seems this long rescue made your, and maybe Pogo's (?) life better. Life is strange like that.
Thank you, James for sharing your amazing rescue stories with us. It's easy to relate to your memories of Kelsey. Tobey Tyler was my heart dog and I miss him and think about him every day after 3 years of his passing at 16 1/2 years old. He was my sidekick every where I went .
Please keep sharing your "adventures" of search and rescue. They are informational and informative. We appreciate you and your rescue "crew".
I’m fascinated by your work, so grateful you document it here, and share your deep love of dogs and the true happiness you find in helping and loving them.
Hi James, Sorry this is a little off topic, but it is related. I shared this on Facebook, as well as emailing it to some friends because it's such a fabulous post. Since they haven't subscribed, they first see a popup asking for their email to subscribe. They think that they are required to subscribe, but don't want to do that. They miss that there is a very small "no thanks" below that so they can read the post. I am not the type to subscribe to a new blog without ever getting a chance to read it first, so I understand. Is there anyway to change it so the popup doesn't appear?
I agree that that pop-up is very annoying and I wish people could see that they can just close that and keep reading the article. I will try to see if I can figure out how to not have that on future articles. It’s definitely not something that I chose to put there.
Such a meaningful way to remember Kelsy and to honour her, in the service of animals in need.
Wonderful. No words. Thank you James.

What a great story. I love happy endings. Thanks for what you do and a shout out to Joy and the other volunteers with WASART.
I’m so happy everything worked out well for Pogo! WASART is always happy to come assist.
Thank you for your very kind and patient assistance.
True dedication to reuniting pets with their family! WOW! What a story. Thank you!

Awesome rescue job Jim. Never ceases to amaze me what you go thru to do this work for animals. Bless you and them.
