James, this post is excellent, as well as being very moving. Thanks so much for the paragraph about the Facebook contacts, and mention of Useless Bay Sanctuary.
So moving! These dogs are alive because of you. Between the highway, pepper sprayed causing more fear and distress. Speaking with the police to allow you handle it. I was in a house that caught fire 40 yrs ago. Middle of the night woken by sirens my only thought was to get the newfoundland my German Shepard and my small dog into my control at the same time a fireman yelling that he'd kill the newfoundland if I did not get them away. My biggest fear today is in case of an emergency with my 90 yr old mom while I'm not home. A first responder may do the unthinkable to my dog who will be soo scared. I wandered off topic. This story brought back memories..thought provoking of my life in the now.
Red Lion Dogs.
Thanks for rescuing these two buddies and for all your work with lost/found dogs and cats.
Boy, above and beyond!

Thank you and Kari for a job well done! I learn so much more from these moments of rescue.
