I have been posting articles in this forum for a year, now. Over 118 articles have been posted. I hope this writing has been a resource for people. Did you know that you can search through all of the articles? I only just discovered that a few days ago. If you search for Mu, for example, you can see a dozen articles about Mu and his work. You might want to search for topics like Calming Signals, or trapping. It was my goal from the beginning that this newsletter would serve as a resource for people who are missing a pet, or helping a lost pet. I hope that people read the articles as they are posted, of course, but there is an encyclopedia of information about lost pets in these posts that I hope will help you in the future.
Please let me know which articles you found helpful or inspiring. Also, if you have questions or ideas for future newsletter articles, I would love to hear them. Leave a comment below.
I am very thankful for everyone who has subscribed. However, every single day I see lost cats and dogs that are not being helped properly because people don’t know the information in these pages. Yesterday, I know at least 3 dogs were hit by cars and died because I didn’t have time to help them personally, and because knowledge such as Calming Signals has not reached the general public. Please share this newsletter with someone. Maybe you have a favorite article, such as the one about the kitten named Mu, or how to catch four turtles, that you think someone might like to read. I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to read these articles, and I hope you can find something in these pages that is worth sharing to a wider audience.
I shared the article about not chasing dogs, plus a write up of loss prevention techniques , on the pet lost and found page of next door. Hope that helps. We have about 2000 people on that page so hope word gets around. Your articles are great and we access some others of them on that page as well. Thank you james.
My dog-loving teen read your "calming signals" article the day before she found a lost dog on a major road, and was able to keep the dog calm and away from traffic while getting a picture that allowed the owners to find her quickly. And I shared the "what to do if your dog gets lost" article with a few neighbors who were looking for their pups, and 3/3 said the info was helpful in helping them reunite successfully. And, that same article helped us find a 4 month old puppy who was stolen from the rescue I work with. Definitely valuable info, thank you!
