I have really enjoyed writing on SubStack. It has allowed me to put our work into stories that I can share with an audience directly. Our mission is to help people find lost pets, and to prevent them from going missing, if possible. The stories in this newsletter are examples and inspiration for ways that you can find a lost pet, either your own, or someone else’s.
This newsletter contains two books, which you can read chapter by chapter as newsletter articles. One book is the Lost Pet Rescue Handbook. It is for anyone who wants to do what we do, either working with trained search dogs, offering advice, or giving assistance in your community. The Handbook has 40 chapters, and you can have it with you on your phone or mobile device so you can access the information any time. It is loaded with pictures and video. People who read the Handbook should be able to help meet the huge demand for assistance with lost cats and dogs. You can find the Handbook through the link above, or you can look it up at any time by going to the archive and searching for Handbook. The archive gives you access to all of the 200+ newsletter articles. You can search for a particular topic, such as Humane Traps. (To search the archive, click on the Three Retrievers logo, then select archive, and search for your topic. If you just use the search box at the top of the SubStack page, you will get articles from every SubStack publication.)
The other book in the Newsletter is Mu & I, the adventures of the Cat Detection Dog, Wakomu, from when I bought him as a neglected puppy, through the hundreds of searches he and I have done together. This book is still being written as Mu & I add more chapters. Mu is very photogenic, and I’m not the only one that thinks so. There are dozens of pictures of him throughout the book, which you can read by clicking through the chapters. Of course, you can search for Mu, Komu, or, his full name, Wakomu, to get all of the articles featuring him.
I would like your help with a couple of things as the Three Retrievers Newsletter enters its third year. First, I would like to hear from you about what kind of stories or information you would like to read in the coming year. What articles were your favorites? Please comment below, or email james.branson.206@gmail.com. Second, I hope you will share the newsletter with someone who is an animal lover, and help us grow the Newsletter. Our mission of finding missing pets is helped when our audience grows. In particular, I have not been successful in getting the word out about Loss Prevention, and I would really like your help with that.
Thank you for being a subscriber to the Three Retrievers Newsletter. The search dogs get requests almost every day, and we can’t keep up with the demand. Through our website and the Newsletter, we can try to help those cats and dogs that we can’t help in person.
This is the correct link for Mu & I.
